I (23F) have a cat named Luna (6F). Yesterday, I was eating a chicken sandwich to treat myself as I studied for my midterms. As I began to eat, Luna came up and put her face in my sandwich and I gently nudged her away.

She tends to do this whenever there's chicken (I'm black and I don't like when she touches my chicken. She's got black beans so she's black too, but the difference is that I pay the bills). After I nudged her Nun

A few hours later, she looked at me and meowed again but this time she got political. I know that she wanted the chicken sandwich but it was mine. She thinks I overreacted by not giving her my sandwich, but I was really hungry. AITA?

bumjug427 That look *clearly* indicates that she believes that you were totally in the wrong! Cat juries are notoriously difficult to sway in favor of the human! ○ Reply W 5.1K

disorder_regression The jury finds Luna innocent of any charge the defendant in question has accused her of!

mmmmercutio . YTA. Even if you pay the bills, it's obviously her house, and the chicken was in the house, thus making it her chicken. Common sense, methinks. :/ [fr though this post had me giggling Imao, and Luna is adorable]

Rochelle6 OP • I spoke with the downstairs cat about this when my neighbors took him outside to play, and he said "meow meow meow". So clearly, he thinks I overreacted too. But this was a Popeyes chicken sandwich. I can't just let her have that even if she's technically black too. ○ Reply 2.6K

HououMinamino You must make it up to her by making her chicken! With cat-safe seasoning, of course.

JeveStones69 YTA. When IS the last time she had a chicken sammich?
  • 14
No_Maize_230. I would sleep with one eye open tonight, you are on THE LIST.

Rochelle6 OP. She's coming for me
  • 16
weirdcrabdog YTA, how could you say no to that face? D

ClockworkMeow NAH, because you both deserve delicious chicken. You pay the rent, but she doesn't have thumbs, so this would be the purr- fect incentive to work out some collaborative chicken acquisition tactics for next time.

Organic_Charity_1444 YTA if a cat wants it its theirs!!! She was in the right to say meow! The rules are as follows: Whats theirs is theirs Whats yours is also theirs! Very clear, dont know what u dont get... In this case any given feline is eligible for compensation up to quintuple the chicken sammies

MisterWinchester Clearly yes. "Sandwich" falls into the "ours, not yours" category, unless it becomes "mine."

Rochelle6 OP After reading the comments, I have decided to study cat law. Apparently, this is one of the first things they teach you in Paw School.
